3 students from Colaiste Dun Iascaigh won 1st prize in the Senior category of MSD Bright Ideas competition.
Brian O’ Connor, Shauna Burke and Gerard Walsh presented “Seed to feed in 7 days”, a project to find a more sustainable way to feed farm animals.
The competition was held in MSD Ireland’s site in Ballydine, Clonmel. And the prizes were presented by Ger Carmody, the site lead at the Ballydine plant.
The Bright Ideas Competition, in its 2nd year, is designed to allow candidates with an opportunity to have their projects reviewed, assessed and receive constructive feedback on their projects from professionals in various roles across the MSD business.
MSD is a leader in healthcare producing medicines, vaccines and other health products. They employ over 2000 people in Ireland.
Irish Junior Mathematics Competition
46 first year students entered the Irish Junior Maths Competition. The competition is open to first years all over the country and involves using problem solving skills and critical thinking in a series of multiple choice questions. The top ten student’s scores are sent to compete in a second round of regional finals held later in the Spring.
Our top ten students were presented with Easter eggs and certificates.
